The man who promised to die alongside Oba Okunade Sijuwade has disappeared into thin air.
In Ile Ife, an Abobaku is a person selected by the palace chiefs to die with the king. Such person is treated with dignity and showered with care in his lifetime but he must be buried alongside the king.
Pictured above is the 75-year-old Abobaku who was supposed to be buried alongside Oba Sijuwade today but since he learnt of the death of the Royal Father, he has disappeared into thin air.
He even refused to wait for the official confirmation before he took to his heels.
It is still unclear if the burial will hold today without the Abobaku.
Meanwhile Twitter users have nominated the following Abobakus for the traditional chiefs now that the official Abobaku has picked race..LOL

The devil has a system of agents(demons) and followers amongst men and they perpetrate this evil and ignorance to collect souls for the hell fire. This same madness called culture is practised by zulus, aztecs etc but they have all moved on. It’s high time we enact laws that guide how traditional bodies operate. The king is facing his own reckoning already while these blind people are determined to follow. A cultural revolution like the one China used to overturn a culture of 2000 years is what we need in this country.

They were in it together, why is he running? We have to be realistic here, do you know how many lives would have been taken for him to become and remain an Abobaku? If you know the depth of this their culture, you will be surprised.He could have rejected the ordeal then but he took it. When he was enjoying the position, we did not hear anything. Human sacrifice in this modern age! This is one of the reason the western world still believe that africans lives in cave and on trees. If this is ur culture then ur people are not even different frm the ISIS or Boko Haram group. ABOBAKU, please don’t ever think of coming out frm ur hiding! This is insane and I call it out of God fear, I belief that this Barbaric tradition of using human being for a sacrifice is an heartless, and foolish culture practised in Osun , it is high time we rise up against this useless and stupid tradition. Out of ignorance of this chiefs about where d king is even going may b is even heading to hell they dnt knw .
