September 28, 2015 – Provide The List Of Nigerians Who Died, Survived Mina Stampede – Buhari Tells Hajj Commission & Nigerian Embassy In Saudi Arabia

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) and the Nigerian Embassy in Saudi Arabia to urgently account for all Nigerian pilgrims in the aftermath of last Thursday’s disaster at Mina.

The Presidential directive follows conflicting reports on the number Nigerians who died or suffered injuries in the catastrophe which claimed well over 700 lives.

“President Buhari is very concerned that days after the unfortunate incident, some Nigerian families are still grappling with painful uncertainty over the fate of their relatives who traveled to Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj,” a statement by Shehu Garba, a media aide to the president said.

The President expects the National Hajj Commission to work with the various state pilgrim boards, Islamic organisations and private travel agencies involved in Hajj operations to speedily provide a confirmed and verifiable report on the status of every Nigerian pilgrim in Saudi Arabia.

President Buhari has also directed the Hajj Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Nigerian Embassy in Saudi Arabia to give all necessary assistance to Nigerians who are still receiving treatment for injuries suffered in Mina.

He continues to pray that Almighty Allah will receive the souls of the dead, comfort bereaved families, heal the injured and bring all surviving Nigerian pilgrims safely home.

This is terrible, may God accept their soul.

I don’t care whose side you are on with regard to this tragedy, be you a believing Christians or Muslims, this is a sad moment for the families of those who died untimely death in Saudi Arabia. Our God who dwell in Heaven is love, and those that claimed to be His children must exhibit his love towards all mankind. Every human life is precious and matter in the sight of the creator of Heaven and earth. It is a pure hatred for anyone to say that these Nigerian who died in Mina deserve to die because they are practicing Muslims. The words of God Almighty as written in the Holy Bible says, ” Moan with those that are moaning, and rejoice with those who are rejoicing.” We must respect people’s opinions, ideas, and their religious in other for us to have a peaceful, stable, and prosperous nation. Some families are seriously grieving both in the north and Southern part of our beloved nation b/c they have lost their mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, son and daughters; it greately offend me a Christian to read those offensive comments from my fellow Nigerian citizens. Those comments are baseless, ungodly, hateful, offensive and highly divisive. To families of those who have lost people in that Mina tragedy, I pray that God will give you all the hearts and strength to bear your lost.
