Anti-Boko Haram Preacher Assassinated In Zaria

A popular Zaria-based Islamic cleric Sheikh Albani has been murdered in cold blood.

The radical anti-boko haram preacher was gunned down on Saturday around 10pm in the evening by some suspected Boko Haram militants while heading home after his usual Tafsir lecture in Zaria.

His wife was killed instantly by the impact of the gunshot while the cleric was rushed to the hospital.

Sheik Albani was rushed to St Luke Hospital in Wusasa where he succumbed to his injuries hours later.

The leader of Islamic Salafiyya movement in Nigeria was arrested in 2011 for radical preaching. He was later released by a court.
