Today South African immigration authorities arrested and detained about 400 immigrants in Johannesburg, some of whom are believed to be in the country illegally.

Whilst South Africa authorities have been known to conduct routine raids on communities suspected of harboring unregistered immigrants today’s actions may further alienate South Africa’s immigrant populations.
