September 10, 2017 – Reverend Father Attack: St Thomas Catholic Church Releases Update On Priest Attacked By Gunmen In Ikeja Lagos, Says Doctors Are Battling To Stabilize Him

At about 9:15am, after presiding over the morning mass and hearing confessions, Rev. Fr Daniel O Nwankwo our Parish Priest was accosted within the church compound by three unknown hoodlums who shot him at a very close range. Fr Daniel was rushed to the hospital where he is currently receiving medical treatment.

The Lagos State Police Commissioner, CP Imohim Edgal responded swiftly with his men by visiting the crime scene within twenty minutes of the incident and also visited the victim at the hospital where Doctors are doing their best to stabilize the Priest.

We Appreciate the concern of our Parishioners and well meaning members of the public who have shown us tremendous support at this trying period and urge you to keep the prayers coming even as we commit the quick recovery of our dear Rev Fr Daniel to God through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary whose Feast of Nativity we celebrate today.

  1. We hope the hoodlums are arrested, interrogated to fish out those involved and executed because their aim is to kill the Reverend Father like they killed the one in Imo. They should have gone to kill those fake pastors who practice human sacrifice in their church and use the name of God to commit evil.

  2. THE GANG SHOULD BE SHOT WHEN CAUGHT..THE REASON PEOPLE DONT PITY THESE HEARTLESS ANIMALS WHEN THEY BURN THEM WITH TYRES AROUND THEIR NECK.WE PRAY FOR THE PRIEST TO SURVIVE

  3. No matter what ever is the reason, does it mean that no one has the fear of God anymore? The hands of God is upon you father. Get well soon!
