Sunday Inspiration By David Oyedepo: The Healing Power In The Holy Communion Part 2
September 11, 2016 – Sunday Inspiration By David Oyedepo: The Healing Power In The Holy Communion Part 2
Last week, we began this teaching with the understanding that Jesus is the Great Physician and one of His great prescriptions is the Holy Communion, which is the flesh and the blood of Jesus Christ. This week, we shall be examining the content of the flesh and the Blood of Jesus Christ that guarantees our healing.
What is in the flesh? The flesh is the New Testament manna, which is superior to the one the Israelites fed on in the wilderness: Concerning the Israelites, the Bible records that they fed only on manna for forty years and their health was supernaturally sustained (Exodus 16:35; Deuteronomy 8:4; Psalms 105:37).
Yet, Jesus speaking about the New Testament manna, which is the Communion, said that it is far more superior to the one the Israelites ate. As it is written, ‘I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world’ (John 6:48-51). If the Israelites had a testimony of total health by partaking of manna for forty years, how much more shall we have when we partake of the flesh of Christ, which is much more superior in value?
The flesh is the miracle meal that neutralises every poison in our bodies: The Bible records: And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not. So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof. But he said, then bring meal.
And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot (2 Kings 4:39- 41; see also John 6:57-58). ‘Pot’ and ‘meal’ in the above scripture connote stomach/body and the flesh of the Communion, respectively. That means, the flesh is an anti-death medication that has the capacity to terminate every deadly sickness and disease in our bodies.
The flesh is the rod of power that swallows up the rod of the oppressor in our bodies: Remember that Moses’ rod swallowed up the rod of the magicians in Egypt. Jesus is that rod in a figure because we understand from scriptures that He is the Rod that came forth out of the stem of Jesse.
Therefore, as we partake of the Communion flesh, we swallow the Rod of power, whose mission is to swallow up every rod of the magician, in form of sicknesses, diseases and oppressions of the devil, tormenting our lives (Exodus 7:8-12; Isaiah 11:1).
· The flesh conveys the revelation-boosting power of God: And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight (Luke 24:30-31).
The Communion flesh is a booster of revelation which in turn refreshes and rejuvenates, thus renewing our health. We must understand that revelation is our ransom from the threat of death because the dominion of light over darkness is instant and unquestionable.
The Communion flesh is one of the mysteries that open our spiritual understanding to next levels and grant us access to deeper mysteries that guarantee us total health forever (Job 33:21-25). · The flesh is the miracle rod for signs and wonders: God said to Moses: And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs (Exodus 4:17).
Remember that with the rod in Moses’ hand, while in Egypt, he was in command of signs and wonders, and Jesus is that rod in a figure. Therefore, partaking of the Communion flesh puts us in command of signs and wonders, thus dominating life’s situations and circumstances at will (Isaiah 11:1; John 1:1-5, 14).
· It is a mystery of flesh transplant: Through the Communion flesh, our natural flesh is exchanged with Jesus’ divine flesh and this guarantees our immunity (John 6:57-58). What is in the Blood? § The blood content of the Holy Communion is a spiritual blood transfusion: Medically, every disease is traceable to the blood. When we partake of the blood content of the Communion, there is a mystery of blood transfusion as we exchange our human blood for Jesus’ divine Blood.
That means our new blood group is now that of Christ (Leviticus 17:11; John 6:53-56). In conclusion, it is important to understand that the Communion is not just to be taken once in a while or during Communion services but as often as possible.
Jesus said, “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup…” (1 Corinthians 11:26). When I encountered this mystery for the first time in 1977 from the works and life of Smith Wigglesworth, I placed myself on this medication daily because I wanted all of God’s nature in my life.
I have been on that nature till date and it works like fire! I have often said, “It’s foolishness to be shameful of what is gainful.” The Great Physician’s prescriptions may not make sense but when we subscribe to them, we take delivery of our desires as a dream of the night (John 9:1-8).
Henceforth, as we subscribe to the prescription of the Holy Communion, we will begin to experience total health in our spirit, soul and body, in Jesus’ name! Remain ever blessed.
Are you born again? Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord? If you haven’t, you can do so as you say this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the Living God. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour.
Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now I know I am born again!” For further reading, please get my books: For further reading, please get my books: Keys to Divine Health, The Miracle Meal, Fulfilling Your Days and The Healing Balm.
