Broke Surgery Resident Doctor Dies Of Hypertension While Performing 4th Of 6 Surgeries At UBTH Benin RIP Dr Egigba Okeoghene

A senior registrar  in the University of Benin Department of Surgery, Dr Okeoghene Egigba passed away yesterday due to stress.

The overworked resident surgery doctor reportedly conducted 3 surgeries out of his scheduled 6 surgeries before he died of hypertension while performing the 4th one.

The father of 5 was rushed to the emergency ward but he didn’t make it.

A friend of the deceased on the social media said he was working round the clock to save up for his rent that is due by the end of November when the unexpected happened.

His roommate at UNIBEN said he had 2 more surgeries to perform for the day when he suddenly collapsed.

This is the situation of many doctors in Nigeria today and this explains why many of them are relocating to the UK, US & Canada for greener pasture.

May his soul rest in peace and many God comfort the 5 children and the widow he left behind.

Hope the government will help his family now that the breadwinner of the family  is gone.
