May 22, 2017 – Taxi Driver Dies Of Heart Attack On Lagos Island While Waiting To Pick Passengers
A cab driver identified as Idowu reportedly died of heart attack on Lagos Island at the weekend. Witnesses said the incident occurred about 3.30 a.m., while the driver was waiting to pick passengers at Alli Street.
It was learnt that Idowu had waited for passengers to no avail. He was going into his vehicle parked on the roadside to rest when he fell down and held his chest, screaming for help. Idowu was screaming for help. But no assistance came his way.
The victim died on the spot when nobody came to his rescue. A resident, who did not want his name in print, said he was on the balcony of his house, praying when the driver fell down.
He said: “I saw him holding his chest about 3.30 a.m. He later fell down and was screaming for help.
I could not come downstairs to assist him for fear of being arrested and accused by the police of killing him. “The following morning, we informed police at Lion’s Building. Emergency ambulance came and evacuated the body.
They searched his pocket for his mobile phone to inform his family members about the incident.”
The deceased, it was learnt, resided at Agboole Mogaji, Patey area on the Lagos Island.
