October 8, 2015 – Vincent Enyeama Has Quit The Super Eagles, How Oliseh Insulted Him In Belgium

It is official! Super Eagles’ goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama has bowed to Sunday Oliseh’s threat.

The embattled sport man took to his official Twitter handle today to announce his decision to quit international football.

In the tweet he said:

“I have fought a good fight for more than 13 years. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith and sang the anthem with passion… From henceforth, I am no more the captain of the Nigerian senior football team, I am no more the goalie of the team, I am out of the team. I am no more available for international duties. I want to say thank you to every Nigerian fan and supporter worldwide. It’s been the most trying period of my life but I know that Nigerians are there for me and God is with me. God bless Nigeria.#ENDOFANERA.”

This came hours after NFF boss Amaju Pinnick issued a statement that the board has settled the rift between Oliseh and Enyeama.

Enyeama arrived at the Nigeria camp in Belgium on Tuesday, a day past Monday’s deadline, after attending his mother’s funeral last weekend in his home town.

A surprised Enyeama was told by Coach Oliseh that a new captain, Ahmed Musa of CSKA Moscow of Russia, had been appointed to replace him.

Report said that this degenerated into a row that prompted the coach to send the keeper out of the camp if not for the intervention of President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick.

Nigerians are now blaming Oliseh for being insensitive to Enyeama who just buried his mother.

Almighty God will surely be there for you and us! Don’t mind Oliseh, Eagle’s performance in the subsequent games will justify his eligibility for such unmerited exalted appointment as Chief Coach of Super Eagle, which he himself could not even captained well in 2002. I weep for Nigerian that have passion for the senior team.

Nigerians are right. Oliseh did not do the right thing. He is not trained or he lacks manners or he doesnt have conscience. Please just leave him with his team. That humiliation will not go unpunished, leave him for God. We appreciate your effort to Nigeria. I still believe in you and pray God to see you through in your future endeavours.

Oliseh should have shown some humane feeling, as the gentleman just lost his mother. Vincent, God is with u and He will never leave you.

you are rather too fast to implement glass house agreement
we understand you want to build a new team that will be loyal. and at the same time break the cabal. Wouldn’t it have been better if you were slow and diplomatic and not creating divide and sentimenting your new team.
    To Enyeama,
You are a hero and have paid your own dues. Do not be too difficult when we will come begging for a return and a change of heart. For I know Nigerians will.

Oliseh, football is not politic, if Mr President is sacking all on the courupt list, you are also trying to do the same, but Vicent is a hard working guy who help to keep the Super Eagle a live till you return back to coah them, you have done the worst even after losing his mother, you have no human in you, remember that Vicent have his fans also in the team, i dont think that you will build team like Bonfre jo and others, but all of them repect their players, try to look before you leap, you may bring your down fall by yourself.
Vicent, may God bless you in all your future entprise, he is sending you to your blessing home.Bravo, bravo, the fearless Goal keeper.

Dis is sad. Even with good reasons from Oliseh, sacking Eyeama isn’t a justification for ur actions. Well I hope how we go from here wit Oliseh loosing 2 goals. Wat a way to begin after sacking Eyeama

I think it is time we think outside the box and stop doing things the way we have been doing. Enyeama as done a great job serving his country. let us keep aside sentiments let the young players who are not looking at retiring take charge now as the EAGLES must once again be EAGLES. Obe person cannot be bigger than the team

To the best of my knowledge, Vincent Enyeama does not have a record of insubordination in the Super Eagles squad. Anyone mourning his late mother cannot be in the best of moods. So Sunday Oliseh, if you’re reading this, know that being temperamental, intolerant and insensitive to the emotional need of your players is definitely not the best way to foist team discipline. You have made a big mistake, bro. and I advise you to swallow your pride and go win over your friend, Enyeama. To err is human.

its unfair to treat ENYEAMA that way, after he has serve his father countyry for that long. And if NFF can not address the issue, there should be a presdentcial directive to restore ENYEAMA BACK to the team……….my opinion

My dear Vincent, we understand you and knows what your passing through as one that is mourning his lovely mother and needed to be considered even though they want to remove you from the team it should not be now, you have tried for this country and Nigerians appreciate your commitment so far, your problem with the coach was not as a result of arriving late but it was an already plan waiting to be carried out, may God Almighty continue to bless and guide you and your family.Move on my brother one with God is majority.
