Why Obasanjo & IBB Were Absent At Jonathan 2nd Term Declaration In Abuja

obasanjo absent jonathan 2nd term

Nov 12, 2014 – Why Obasanjo OBJ, IBB Ibrahim Babangida Were Absent At Jonathan 2nd Term Declaration In Abuja

To confirm what he told journalists few weeks ago in Lagos, Obasanjo has showed his disapproval of President Goodluck Jonathan’s 2nd term ambition by shunning the event.

Former Presidents Ibrahim Babangida and Obasanjo are 2 top PDP members who shunned what sources called Jonathan’s self-centered ambition to put Nigeria under 4 more years of pressure.

In a recent interview, Obasanjo said Jonathan agreed with PDP not to run for reelection in 2011 and that he vowed to only be in office for one term.

Meanwhile, there were mixed reactions to the President’s self assessment at his declaration for the 2015 election.

Jonathan, who admitted that the Boko Haram issue had been a big challenge to his administration, listed his achievements in various sectors.

A former chairman of the Ikeja branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Monday Ubani, said Nigerians could not be carried away by the list of achievements reeled out by the President.

Ubani said, “Nigerians are already used to this road; the road of leaders coming out to tell Nigerians about their achievements that are not seen. Leaders at state and local government levels during the period of elections come out to say a lot of things.

“We are used to it but we are not carried away by their claims.”

Jonathan was urged to mourn the 48 students killed by Boko Haram in Yobe on Monday before making his declaration but he ignored all the requests instead he went ahead to conduct the rally at the Eagle Square in Abuja on Tuesday.

The same thing happened when Boko Haram kidnapped over 200 school girls in Borno state few months ago.

Oga on top didn’t mourn them, instead he went about with his political campaign in Kano where he was spotted jubilating on stage.

The picture below says it all.

Jonathan should not be crucified for what the northern leaders created. They formed BH to distablize this country they should be blamed for the Killing. Jonathan has better things to do. Ride on MY PRESIDENT.

GEJ don’t even need the PRESENCE of those DEMONIC agents. The SO-CALLED OBJ wanted to rule beyond 2nd term and now he is criticising GEJ simply because he want to go for a second term. Let me just clear the air. OBJ didn’t get the percentage he was expecting from GEJ when he(GEJ) assumed office as a PRESIDENT. Most of the problems Nigeria is experiencing now was created by these men(OBJ & IBB). Aren’t we Nigerian tired of being ruled by these old and selfish politicians. There is a saying that “YOUTHS are the LEADERS of tomorrow” but Nigeria, we see all these OLD men occupy different positions. What is the position of the youth? We have to ask ourselves.

when Atiku decleared there was no bombing;when Buhari decleared, there was no bombing. When ever Jonathan plans a programme there will be bomb blast just to distabilize the programme and to see GEJ as a bad leader. The hand writing is clear on the wall now that some forces are behind GEJ’s success. Well he has declered and he will win either anyone likes it or not and all the enemies of progress will be put to shame. My heart goes to the families of the casualties of the suicide bomb blast in Yobe:Sleep well, great Nigerian heroes

Criminal Obasanjo should be so ashamed of himself for creating a destructive monster that has gotten out of control due to his election fraud and political manipulations. Former president Olusegun Obasanjo is the pioneer of all Nigerian misfortune, setbacks, and problems we are presently facing us in Nigeria. He single handedly paved way for blood sucking Nigerian president called Badluck Ebele Jonathan. Obasanjo knew that Yaradua was terminally sick and unfit to govern because of his health conditions, but he persuaded him to become Nigerian president knowing fully well that Yaradua will pack off in office. The same criminal Obasanjo rigged the 1979 election to favor president Sheu Shagari to cover his looting and embezzlement that Awolowo campaigned against. National project like “Operations Feed the Nation” was converted to Obasanjo personal property called “Obasanjo Farm Nigeria Ltd.” Today, we have a president that careless about the well being and affairs of Nigerian people. What concern this useless, corrupt, money laundering, and most imcompentent president is to continue to destroy Nigerian destiny beyond 2015. This president has put his personal ambition above Nigerian interests, security, and unity. While Jonathan is working and planning to hang on to power beyond 2015 against the will of Nigerians, God Almighty is Preparing Jonathan’s replacement and he knew it not. What a mess! A liar like Jonathan who promised us before the 2011 election that he will not seek for reelection come 2015, should not be allowed to continue his agenda to destroy Nigerian destiny, economy, national security, and unity beyond 2015.

We must learn to understand the tricks of politicians and the irresponsible opposition they’ve produce, who doesnt have anything to offer us than to generate crisis where there is none. Politicians understand how vulnerable Nigerians are and they take advantage of us all. lt is time for us to leave sentiments and religion politics and pray for the best. For me be it Jonathan or God knows who, l want to see the poor be able to pay their children school fees and have food on their table. Counting from Obasanjo to Atiku to Babangida up to Buhari, are they not those who created what we are going through today? Please, let them go to bed in shame and stop brainwashing me that they can change Nigeria, which Nigeria is Buhari/Atiku coming to change? lets wait and see

Well it is a welcome development that he have formally declared to run for the office of the presidency lets give him a chance his tenure will only last till 2019 .
My fellow Nigerians from the north lets join Gej to move Nigeria forward at least to balance the political equation 2019 ….. South east if we really believe in one Nigeria .

Why must northerners always blame GEJ for the problem they caused in their region? They have been ruling this country for years stil they are the poorest region in Nigeria, they have richest politicians in Nigeria if not Africa stil they refuse to put things inorder insteady they are using the wealth against their people by sponsoring BH.

@ Grace, TNA, Emy & other pro Jonathan it’s okay to have a choice but let it be a good one. You are all saying anti-Jonathan were the one planting all these bombs in other to frustrate him out of the office. Agreed, but don’t you think Jonathan as the president & commander in chief of Nigeria armed forces has a responsibility to go after these culprits arrest them and bring them to justice? We need to stop blaming Buhari, IBB & co. for the brain behind these. Your boss has already proclaim on National TV that he knew the people behind this. What is he waiting for? his position as No. 1 man is to protect live and property of citizens of this Country. This is a gross incompetency on his part. If this guy wants to be a full time politician, it’s okay but not sitting down at Aso Rock, sharing the stolen treasury with his cronies and ignore the violence going on in the other part of the Country as if they are not part of Nigeria If he can not bring all Nigerians together he might as well step aside period.

I’ve been a silent reader for years on this blog, but comments of some people prompt me to break my silence. I wonder what those people in support of GEJ were thinking. When a leader is not capable of controlling many things in his administration, that’s where you see insurgency, unemployment, lack of infrastructure e.t.c. Should we wait till BH hit the state capital or your home town before we realise what is happening?? GEJ supporters, think twice ooo, don’t sell your future for bag of rice.

    November 12, 2014 at 4:48 PM

Dear Niyi, with all due respect to you, insurgency is a new wave of evil that wants to control the whole universe and declare it lsamic world, please watch what is going on in lraq since 2002, lran, afganistan, pakistan, syria and so on. this countries have been fighting insurgency for years without no solution. Didn’t the American administration run well when Osama Bin laden and his group of terrorist hit the world trade center and kill over 3,000 people? Hasn’t Jonathan tried repairing our broken down roads and other infrastructure? when will we ever learn and allow a chance? when Idiagbon rule this country with iron hand, we didnt like it, he was kicked out so we can only pray and hope for the best which no one knows if the best will ever come because we have greedy politicians over the place and irresponsible opposition who is good at propaganda. thanks

Politics…it’s a dirty game indeed, who can tell me what difference all these people mentioned, OBJ,IBB,ATIKU etc can make…the greatest problem Nigeria is having now is no more courageous youth, they are forming useless cult to kill themselves instead of claiming their future from the hands of this vampires called politicians. These vampires has mismanaged the human resources and every other thing God blessed Nigeria with.

      November 13, 2014 at 3:45 PM

@ Mon you have made a good observation concerning the attitude of our youth in Nigeria. Instead of using their youthful prowess to toss out the thieves in power, they allowed themselves to be used as political tools. Sometimes I feel dismay to see our youths who have graduate from institution of higher learning to stoop so low by becoming hired killers for the politicians who have ruined their future and their children through corruption. All over the World the youths represent good changes but in our great Nigeria, all they know is cultism and how to kill themselves because they want to proof supremacy. Arab spring started and initiated by youths. In Nicaragua the youths over there banned anybody over 65 years old to participate in the active politics. Youths in Burkinafaso used their youthful endowment to send their corrupt leader to exile. Are they smarter than our youths who can only score high mark in horrendous crime?.

ALL I KNOW IS THAT WITHOUT ANY FEAR OR FAVOUR, PRESIDENT JONATHAN HANDLING OF BOKO HARAM ISSUE IS UNDOUBTEDFULLY SUSPICIOUS. AT THIS JUNCTURE,I THINK THE ONLY WAY HE CAN PROOF TO NIGERIANS THAT HE IS NOT DESPERATE IS TO RESIGN, JUST THE SAME WAY BUHARI SHOULD NOT CONTEST.

Am a friend of ds site bt I don’t usually comment bt reading thru people’s comment 29t, I hd no choice dan 2 make a comment as well. I believe a king of any village where d villagers are almost finished by means of death or blood shed would av seek solution which if there is none he will step down jus 2 protect his good name nd if he refuses 2 d people will b forced 2 dethrone him even on exile. 4 dos saying GEJ is d bst, if GEJ hs bn d people”s man d bst thing he would done is 2 step down den he would av bn a hero nd d bst instead of ds selfish interest. We should kn wot we say as Nigerians especially 4 ds administration, I will say may b bcoz we do nt av any of our family members amongst dos dat av lost their lives makes u saying dat GEJ is d bst, I beseech u Nigerians dat if u will b casting a vote, do it wisely, thks.
