Honetly, it should not even be a matter of “recommendation”. It is the LAW.
Nigerian politician are hypocrites. They implement law on the poor but “immunitise” themselves. How could God have mercy on such Nation.

@Amanda, you are very 10/10. WS is not telling us a new thing because this has been the idea all along. But greater corruption always see that corruption is not punished. Even today that we sing Change like a holy, celestial hymn, greater corruption is still at work, making sure that it is only a selected few that are prosecuted.
Nigeria, we hail thee!

Pa soyinka we all wish d same, but in dis country were corruption is at its full swing I don’t know how that can work.
The only way is if a law can be passed that anyone caught will be executed immediately, without an overturn.
China was one of d most corrupt countries we had then, but when they started killing anyone that is caught stealing inregardless of ur status, the country is now one of d safest places u can now go and transact business.
Can that be done in Nigeria, only by God intervention, nothing is impossible.

Nigeria continue to be behind other nations because of failure to create and enforce the law regarding the fate of corrupt officials found in stolen the country’s money. China get to where they are today as the second super power and largest economy in the world because of there effort in combating corruption. Many corrupt officials found with state fund have been publicly executed. There bloods have being spilled over the past decades. Iran also do the same. And this has sharply end theft among high profile figures in the Government in those countries. The question is,why is it that our law makers are not implementing that law? Our anti graft agencies have indeed become a laughing stock in the way they have dealt with corrupt officials recently. They need to strengthen their laws and don’t have mercy on corrupt officials caught in that evil act no matter the comments from nigerian disapproving it. It is only by then, they will get to where the rest developed world are today.

One of the Naval Chiefs stole #24 Billion. He never showed any remorse for his action, he was swaggering, walking around undisturbed. This guy told the anti corruption agency that he will return #2.6 Billion indicating that at least you guys can leave me alone. Out of #24 billion he wanted to return 2.6 and still keep 95% of the money. Does that needs to be negotiated at all? These corrupt officials were so bold, they believe they were above the law that nobody can hold them responsible for their misdeeds. One thing I’m sure of is, if this guy knew he was going to be executed, he will be begging to return all the loot to safe his life. Until we incorporate capital punishment into our constitution, these corrupt people will continue to steal with impunity.

See Hypocrisy Everywhere!
#Mr. Hunter
See how badly Nigerians want CAPITAL PUNISHMENT. Isn’t the same thing being done in most part of Islamic countries like Malaysia, Saudi, Iran etc? Yet you criticize them and called them as “barbaric”. But those Islamic countries who dont do such like UAE where Nigerians want to do prostitut!on, you hail them advanced countries.
*********If another incident occurs in Saudi or Iran just now where ‘banker’ is beheaded for looting, you will screaming “barbarism”, Islamic barbarism”, “backward nation”. But here you want death sentence, life imprisonment, over 50 years for looting and fraud.
Chai, you better wake up to reality and face front.

Amanda try to understand our point here. Many year-jail term or death penalty suggested above are only for our corrupt officials who are guilty with stealing state fund. It has helped developed those countries with such strict law like iran, china an cho. We are actually pin pointing the good way they are responding and fighting corrupt officials involving themselves in money laundry and not the other human right violations they are also known to have. for instance Despite the good record iran have in dealing squarely with corrupt officials, the European union,Israel, saudi and the US label them as terrorist country. So we are only isolating that good method those country have of punishing the corrupt leaders with many year-jail term or death penalty so as to curtail or curb that corrupt practices of embezzling states funds. I bet you that no country has ever spoken out against such killings of those officials caught with stealing public fund in those countries and that is why we need it implemented here. if that law is here,I believe 50pecent of our politicians will withdraw from politics because nobody wants to die. So we need it here.
