Nigerian gospel singer Yinka Ayefele is yet to recover from the rude shock that hit him on a recent trip to the United States of America.
As usual the talented artist left the shores of Nigeria for a scheduled musical tour of America but to his surprise three of his faithful band members disappeared on reaching America.
According to Ayefele, the 3 people left at different times and locations.
He has since wrote the US Immigration officials to help track down these people and deport them.
Here is an official Press release by Yinka Ayefele’s publicist:
The defectors include Ojoyido Adegbenga Ezekiel (Keyboardist), Solomon Olugbenga Motimoke (Vocalist) and Olusola Kayode Isaac (vocalist).
“While Olusola Kayode Isaac defected at the LaGuardiala Airport, New York on Monday, 14th October on his way from Houston with three other members of the band, Ojoyido Adegbenga was said to have disappeared from the group at the Howard Johnson Inn on Rockaway Boulevard, New York on Tuesday, 15th October. The third man was Solomon Motimoke (Yatty), who left the band while still at Washington DC on 11th October.
Meanwhile, the heartbroken gospel artist has returned back to Nigeria. He arrived this last Tuesday.
If these people were to be deported by the US immigration, they won’t come back to join the band.
Do you think Yinka Ayefele should have just let these people go?

Why should he forgive any of them??? why, givien the opportunity to get a US Visa, was not enough for the idiots!, this is a way to repay him. Everyone in Nigeria knows how hard it is to get the US visa and they get that chance and run away. Yinka should have held their passports on arrival, that way they would not be able to travel or run away. This will affect any other VISAs he himself would apply for in the future. Well they can run all they want, they cannot work or hide here in America, trust me America has tightened their immigration services, they will see that life here is not as people think. They would pray to go home after a while. Its a good thing he reported them to immigration, this way when he goes back to the embassy for another visa, he would show that he took the appropriate actions on the matter.
I do not know why we support bad things in Nigeria. This is our problem in Nigeria. Do what is right, paying someone with a bad coin will surely get back to you.

Pals! Think of this Issue and say the the fact… Yinka Ayefele, you are right and I really love your policy… If those ”son of b**ches” want to go out of the band, why couldn’t they inform you? But instead, they left ignorantly…. The best thing is to deport them, because they may av not know what is called America if not because of Ayefele’s help… Wheras, I am also a keyboardlist which travels everyday and I will av left if I want to, but I don’t do that because I haven’t take the permission…. So, it’s better to deport them… That’s not wickedness, but policy and A good policy…. Thanks!

For the fact that what those guys did by disappearing from their master is a very wrong thing to do,and the comment I heard the pple making was that he (Aiyefele) should not have alert the US immigration, that was wrong as well because, if Aiyefele did not report them the US Immigration will still find out on their own and that will jeopardize Aiyefele entry into the US next time which I believe he doesn’t want that to happen so he need to do that by clearing his name. But mind you that doesn’t mean he will not pay for it somehow because the immigration will not want to believe in totality that he is not aware of it and that he is not capable enough in monitoring the guys under him. But my concern and the question I will like Aiyefele to answer is this, how well does he take care of his bands and what is their pay range? Because I know Aiyefele has been blessed and very comfortable and those three guys that disappear believe they are not having good time from their boss and thought that by going AWOL and lives in the states they can have a better life they desire of. Just thinking and that was my thought

You do have a point there and also if he didn’t alert the immigration and those guys don’t return or no one hears from them, he will be in bigger trouble with their families with rumours that will follow that he has done ritual. Am a very close source dear,he pays them well.least of his group takes close to 40k every month.he has tried for them.u knw some Nigerians believe abroad is the big deal.bt pll r suffering here.They just using abroad to cover up shame from friends and family.nothing dey here.some ppl believed,no matter what they v,they can never be complete without travelling.They weren’t the only 3,that went wt him,but they choose to be the ungrateful lepars.the are simply the sharft from the seed.Am sure Ayefele cld arrange best band from America to sing wt him,but he gave these ppl benefit of that,which makes him a good person wt a good heart.How many Nigeria musician travels abroad wt their full band?Now they v use theirs,to obstruct other innocent ppl of getting such privilege from him.l believe,he wld v been warns by several ppl not to take them,bt he ignore critise just bcos he want the best for them.A great lesson to learn sir.Take heart,they will surely meet there ordeal soon.

Bose you are right, they have made the worst mistakes of their lives, they should have used the Visa to travel at their own time and renew it as they go. If they think America is for enjoyment alone then they will have the shocker of their lives. They cannot file for asylum or anything because their story is out.

really whether he reports them or not, doesn’t really matter.they will sort themselves out and mr ayefele wont or might not be able gain an entry permit into the USA again.Since he still has a 2yr visa he would probably also have a hard time renewing it.

What the guys did to Ayefele was wrong, because they probably not aware of the contract he has with the American Embassy in securing their travel visas,so by going Awol on him is going to affect him, next time he wants to come back with his band members to America.Moreover this issue at hand is bigger than Ayefele ,it also going to affect some other artist and entertainers when they plan to travel on entertainment engagement.Although am not really surprise about this ,because its a Nigerian factor always find a way to mess things up for other people by doing something wrong or bad in all areas of conduit.So what he did in reporting them to the immigration was the proper and responsible thing to do ,I wish him best of luck in resolving the issue.

I cant believe that people are calling him bad for reporting those guys. Are you forgetting that before he does a show, he would be given money in advance to travel and pay the ticket for his people and when he comes he has to perform to repay the money. Tomorrow if he want to come back to America, he has to prove that his people will not run. This is the same thing that happened to Shina Peters that almost finished the poor man. Those guys are very wicked and if tomorrow Yinka does not want to help anyone again he would be labeled a bad person. They already have the visa, why not wait till after the show and travel at your own time. The heart of man is desperately wicked.

Guys!!!! For everyone cursing Ayefele for reporting them to immigration, I will say ignorance remains your case. If Ayefele had not reported them, he will never never ever be allowed to enter US again. American embassy will just mark him as syndicate bringing in people from Nigeria to US for gains. That will kill his business and invariably his career. Reporting them to the immigration is the right thing to do…………

Ok. let me explain to you guys how it works. I am a Nigerian born US citizen. I came to US twelve years ago by God’s abundant help. It was tough in the very beginning but by God’s grace, I have acquired a masters degree in engineering ,working and making good money and I have a transportation business on the side. For those of you haters saying negative things about abroad especially US, there are many reasons why you may be saying those things.#1 it is possible that you guys tried to get the visa to US but you were refused.#2.It is possible that you got it but you got deported from US #3 It is possible that you are not educated enough to compete with those over here in order to get a job or do something tangible.#4 It is possible that you were working on minimum wage and couldn’t cope, tried in many ways but nothing seemed to work. Like it or hate it, USA is still the best nation on earth—-I REPEAT THIS.. The best nation on earth. even your past and present presidents (Your leaders know this).You have to get here after being in many other countries such as Germany, England ,Canada etc to understand this. Since you could type your opinion on this comment section, it means you can read and write so Google the word… USA.. and you will stop your ignorant statements about USA. It is true that there is suffering in developed world and US is not a perfect country but the poor people living in this country on welfare live better than those middle class(if existed) in third world countries and this is the reason why over 60% of world population want to live in US…
Now regarding those criticizing Ayefele,US is doing everything possible to stop illegal immigration into this country. When Ayefele helped those guys to get visas, it was his responsibility to make sure that they returned back to Nigeria. If they didn’t ,He(Ayefele) would be held liable for that and it would affect his future recommendations or applications for US visas.It was very necessary for him to let the US immigration know that It wasn’t his idea that those guys ran away. So He did the right thing by reporting their escape. Feel free to comment on my view regarding this if you want but if those guys came in legally which I’m sure they did, by this time in two years time if they know the right things to do here in the US, they will be back in Nigeria with their green cards and there is nothing anybody can do about that. Desperate situation always call for desperate measures and I surely understand why they did what they did. When you get US green card, it is a big step forward to future, I had it, then God helped me through to becoming a citizen and I am now doing well.I wouldn’t have been able to get to where I am today that fast without God’s help and without US documents.My british documents didn’t help. Personally i don’t think as a professional Ayefele will make his workers cry when they bring smiles to his face by working for him and them-self in due time so far. getting the US visa is a very big help, running because you know America as the Top developed country should not be a thing to do at such time but to wait for the right time to come just like the visa came so also going there on their own will also come with no stress i believe that. With that same visa which was handed to them (band members) can still take them back to same country just to get a ticket back there when they are fully ready to leave Ayefele with thanks for long service to him and even blessing from him before leaving the band…Nobody that don’t want a GOOD life but the good life ONLY starts from the planing right from the beginning which truly starts from a right CONCEPTION of THINKING-RIGHT! almost at all times. Nice comments by everybody. But i strongly believe we should hear the sides of these band members before judging them. I believe they don`t really wish to desert Ayefele, but it seems things are not really okay between them and him. We can all say Ayefele helped them, but we can`t deny the fact that they were the ones that rallied round Ayefele when he was nobody and they helped him to build the brand that he has today. Yatty is the one that does the ajasa, and we all know Ayefele`s album is incomplete without that guy`s voice. Ojoyido, is Ayefele`s instrumentalist, and he has been the producer of Ayefeles albums. He does all the mixing and makes the album come out with the right sequence and rhythm. So, we should not think that it was only Ayefele that was helping them. These guys have served Ayefele for 14years and they have been very loyal to him. They actually helped to build the band. Also remember that these guys have been to America with Ayefele in 2008 and they did not abscond, they went to Canada together, they did not abscond and other countries like UK and SA. If they ware leaving the band now,it is obvious that there is something that has gone wrong between them and their boss. Guys, i have related with some of these guys, they are struggling financially. And i feel change is part of life. Everyone of us needs to change jobs or move on with our career. And we all know that most employers are not happy when their commited staffs resign. In as much as i dont like the fact that they left him in the US, i feel they shuld have returned to Nigeria and now go back to US on their own. As long as they have valid visa, they are okay. If these guys need to move on with their lives, it is okay. And it is not good to judge before the time. Time is always a prove of every decision or step taken.

Ayefele should tell the world about his sudden famous that cause him Inability not to work or stand on his feet. I don’t trust him. He became famous on his own express way. Those that he follows that time as his “Oga” boss, where are they today? He probably bargain with those guys on a deal for money. To the guys that stays behind, sky is the beginning .
