Yomi Gold On Becoming US Citizen “I’m Now A Citizen Of The World”

One of the top Nollywood celebrities who have made America their second home, Yomi Gold is still full of joy days after he became a US citizen.

The actor who got his US citizenship application approved few days ago said the feat was one of the most memorable moments of his life.

Here is how the actor described his experience:

“My best moments as an actor would be right now as I have just received my US citizenship. The love and congratulatory messages I have been receiving are overwhelming. It feels very great to be an American citizen because I am now a citizen of the world.

“Compared to Nigeria’s system, it is different because as an American citizen, I am privileged to enjoy basic amenities like adequate power supply and a better health care system. I am not giving up on Nigeria though; I know it is going to take us time to get there and we will definitely get it right someday with right leaders”.

Gold also responded to negative comments from his fans in Nigeria about his new status.

“People will always talk, they are obviously talking like that because of the way the system is. Truth is everyone wants to live a very comfortable life. Everybody will continue to run away from Nigeria because of the bad situation. Not everyone has access to the right connections, big money and good jobs.

“An idle mind is the devil’s workshop; that is why in Nigeria, we always hear sad stories of crime. In the US for example, the government has been able to reduce the rate of crime by providing good jobs and basic social amenities.”

Very naive, he talks as if America is not part of this World. It is just another kind of evil! He even talks about crime rate and basic amenities, meen, you will quickly get it, that not every that glitters is gold. A lot of Nigerians have false understanding of America, this naturally prompt folks to make questionable comments. Folks, it is just another principality of the devil.

Dude, congratulations on becoming American Citizen. You talked about good health care system and I agree with you. In Nigeria there are so many fake drugs, Doctors give patients their medications with no name on the packet so that they can come back to buy from them. Do you really know about medicare, Medicaid and private pay system of healthcare in America? Crime? There are crimes everywhere just like Nigeria. Go check the rate of murder in Chicago and other cities. Have they called you “You f****ing African”…….Welcome to America….
