Did compassion and kindness die on the internet or are people just too drunk to think when typing these foolish comments? Maybe you which for some calamity to befall you too. That house is not a mansion it belongs to a poor man who cannot even afford to paint it. Moderator kindly delete these comments.

Wear his shoes and say that again….if at all you have a brain. Because if we had proper government then the man will not build his house below floodline, there will be proper stormwater drain system, there will be national calamity insurance, and property insurance. The man is another victim of a failed govt that people are so disillusioned to not know this accident is part of its fault.

@ Ayodele you are on point especially in regards of installing storm water drainage system but in Nigeria we are very ignorant and we never want to learn or borrow ideas from those who know more better than we do. The effect of Stromwater if not properly managed can be so dreadful and deadly. My people in Nigeriia never understand the mechanism behind Stormwater. Sometimes when they cannot figure it out they will come to a very ludicrous conclusion that there was a spirit in that water that is very angry and we need to make some sacrifices to appease to marine spirit. I remember in the late 70s and early 80s when Ibadan city was experiencing their worst Tsunami (Ogunpa) If I have never worked in Stormwater Department, I wouldn’t have understood the science behind this phenomenon . What we should do in order to ameliorate and eradicate this problem is for our government to work in agreement with the developers and builders to make it mandatory to install Stormwater drainage system as the first in land disturb activities and also how to maintain it. Land development constitute 85% of Stormwater problems and after any rain event if the Stormwater has no where to go then that will result to flood. Yes our government has a lot to do in order to effect solution to this problem. This is one area where our government should take into consideration before they start spending our money foolishly.

WHY SHOULD YOU DIE, ALL THESE THINGS ARE JUST A MATERIAL OF LIFE WHICH YOU CAN STILL DO BETTER THAN BEFORE.
INSTEAD OF YOU TO THANK GOD THAT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE SAVE, THEN YOU OPENED YOU TOOTHLESS MOUTH AND SAY YOU WANT TO DIE.
MAY I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE WAITING FOR ? YOU DO NOT HAVE TO INFORM PEOPLE THAT YOU WANTED TO DIE.
PLEASE, JUST GO SLOWLY AND JUMP ONE OF THE SUICIDE BRIDGE, THEN YOUR FAMILY WILL HEAR THE NEWS FROM THE STRANGERS. CHIRIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

All hopes are not lost, the owner should massively reinenforce the building with granite and cement, terminate the building at that level and collaborate with neighbours to make a passage way or gutter for the flood assuming the building was not built on on a drainage line.
