April 11, 2014 – 5 People Electrocuted In Lagos After Petrol Tanker Explosion
In the wee hours of yesterday, 5 people including a pregnant woman were electrocuted as they fled from an exploded petrol tanker in Oworonsoki area of Lagos state Nigeria.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident happened when a fully loaded petrol tanker ran into a high tension electric pole.
The electric pole fell on 5 persons as they tried to escape from the scene.
A pregnant woman was alleged to be among those electrocuted and the National Emergency Management Agency spokesman Ibrahim Farinloye said the victims were killed as they fled an explosion.
Several others were also injured in the stampede.
