Aare Of Ire-Ekiti: Atiku Abubakar Made Yoruba Chief In Ekiti State

Nov 10, 2014 – Mallam Atiku Abubakar Made Yoruba Chief In Ekiti State (Aare Of Ire-Ekiti)

Ex-Nigerian VP and APC Politician, Atiku Abubakar has bagged a very big title in Ekiti State.

The 67-year-old Adamawa-born politician was recently made the Aare of Ire Ekiti in Ekiti State.

Last month, Atiku commissioned a new 300-bed hospital in Ado Ekiti and has since developed a good relationship with the Ekiti people as 2015 Presidential election draws near.

He is set to run for Presidential election under APC.

See photos from Atiku’s conferment ceremony below:

This Chieftancy title of a thing has become very cheap nowadays, imagine Atiku as the Aare of a town in Ekiti State.

“Aare” title is the highest of crowns which ONLY descendants of Oduduwa (YorubaLand) can wear.

Some of us are either stuck in the stone age or in there place the buy titles. Atiku happens to be partly an Ekiti man by marriage and if his in-laws deems it fit to honour him, then I believe he had done them proud. If you respect your culture then you will be able to respect other people’s culture
