Terrorists Strike Ungwan Maaji New Millennium City Chikun Kaduna: Bandits Unleash Chaos and Abduct Innocent Residents
In a harrowing incident that unfolded on a fateful Friday night, a wave of terror swept through Ungwan Maaji, New Millennium City, in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, as bandits invaded the community and abducted six helpless residents. The attackers showed no mercy as they unleashed violence and created a climate of fear and uncertainty.

Eyewitnesses recount the horrifying ordeal that took place during the attack. The bandits, armed and dangerous, launched their assault on multiple houses, instilling terror in the hearts of the residents. In their quest to cause chaos and exert control, they took several individuals captive and vanished into the night, leaving their victims’ families in anguish and despair.
One survivor, who wished to remain anonymous, shared his chilling account of the incident. He revealed that the bandits struck around 9:10 pm, targeting a house in close proximity to Chaha Eye Hospital. In this house, they kidnapped a housewife and her domestic helper, forcibly separating them from the safety and comfort of their home. Undeterred, the criminals proceeded to another residence on the same street, where they seized four additional innocent individuals.
In the midst of the chaos, two other individuals who were sitting outside their house also fell victim to the bandits’ sinister plot. However, fortune smiled upon them as they managed to escape while being led away through a nearby stream, concealed by the darkness of the night. Their miraculous getaway left them shaken but alive, while the fate of their fellow captives remains unknown.
Adding another layer of horror to the ordeal, one of the survivors shared the startling revelation that the bandits appeared to be young boys, with the eldest among them estimated to be no older than 20 years. This disturbing detail raises concerns about the exploitation and radicalization of youth by criminal elements, highlighting the need for urgent intervention and the protection of vulnerable individuals from falling into the clutches of such heinous activities.
As the community grapples with the aftermath of this traumatic incident, there has been no official statement from the state government or the Kaduna State Police Command. Residents anxiously await updates and reassurance from the authorities, who bear the responsibility of ensuring the safety and well-being of the people they serve.
Efforts to gather information from the Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Jalige, have been met with silence, leaving the community and concerned citizens in a state of unease. It is crucial for the authorities to promptly address the situation, provide support to the affected families, and intensify efforts to secure the safe return of the abducted residents.
The brazen attack on Ungwan Maaji serves as a stark reminder of the pervasive threat of banditry and insecurity that plagues our society. It underscores the pressing need for a comprehensive and robust approach to combatting criminal activities, dismantling the networks that enable them, and safeguarding the lives and property of every Nigerian.
As the community mourns the loss of peace and grapples with the trauma inflicted upon its residents, there is a collective call for swift action and effective measures to restore security and bring an end to the reign of terror imposed by these bandits. Only through concerted efforts, strong leadership, and a commitment to justice can we reclaim the safety and tranquility that every Nigerian deserves.
