Electrician Dies Of Electrocution In Osogbo While Reconnecting Electric Cables Disconnected By ‘NEPA’
September 22, 2016 – Electrician Dies Of Electrocution In Osogbo Osun State While Reconnecting Electric Cables Disconnected By Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company
A young electrician, Aderemi Mutiu died on Wednesday while working on a pole carrying low-tension electric cables at Ota Efun area of Osogbo, the capital city of Osun state.
The 21-year-old victim was trying to reconnect the cable disconnected by Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) for one of his customers when the pole reportedly broke.
The cable fell on the electrician and died on the spot.
Area residents who rushed to the scene were shocked to see the body of young Aderemi on the ground.
IBEDC had earlier in the year warned electricians to stop the illegal cable reconnection business and since it is the only source of livelihood for many, the order was disregarded.
What a tragedy!
