A Fuji musician has been arrested for impersonating a naval officer.

The 35-year-old man identified as Seyi Durojaiye was nabbed at CMS bus stop in Lagos for falsely representing the navy.

According to police investigation, the suspect who lives at 37 Baale street in Igbon Efon area of Lekki Lagos was arrested by a naval provost, Abrey Maisallah attached to the Naval Headquarters Annex, Moloney, Lagos at CMS bus stop, while sitting inside a commercial bus. When the provost asked the suspected naval officer to identify himself, according to the police, he allegedly said he was a naval officer. But when asked of his identity card, his office and the name of his commander, he could not provide any answer. The provost, who was said to be on a routine patrol in the area, promptly arrested him and took him to the police station.

Police recovered a navy beret cap, belt, under wear, navy uniforms and sweater from him.

After investigation, the suspect was charged before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court, on a count charge of felony, to wit; impersonation of a naval officer.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge, and the magistrate Mrs. A. T. Omoyele admitted him on bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The suspect has been jailed at Ikoyin Prison as the Magistrate adjourned the case to June 30, 2014.

    There are thousands of fake military men in Nigeria today, u can find them in police force, Nigeria army, custom, navy etc. What do u expect from a government that is not well organised. May God have mercy on my beloved country Nigeria.

    I think d guy is frustrated with d situation of D jobless state of Dis country.this is expected in a country where the youths welfare are not properly taking care of and in a country where d leaders are irresponsible to the citizens and are after their own selfish interest.Let d govt do wat is right and there will be a positive change in our country too.God bless Nigeria.
