Some suspected Fulani cattlemen today attacked police officers at a checkpoint in Kaura LGA of Kaduna state.
The gunmen killed 2 and injured 2 others before fleeing on a motorbike around 9:40am.
We gathered that 2 out of the 6 policemen fled into the bus unhurt before the herdsmen snatched 2 AK47 rifles belonging to the deceased officers.
The policemen were deployed to the area to curb the activities of armed bandit killing people in Kaura area of Kaduna before the attack.
The injured policemen are currently receiving treatment at Kafanchan General Hospital.
A military source said soldiers have been deployed to the area.
