At least 9 people were confirmed dead while eleven others suffered severe injuries in a fatal car crash on the popular Gbongan-Ile Ife Road in Osun State, Nigeria. naijagists.com
According to an eye witness, the tragic road accident happened at about 1:30pm around Gbongan Community High School in Gbongan, Osun State.
The witness said the fatal motor accident involved a passenger bus with plate registration number XA 477 MAP and a truck with plate # XA 585 ALK.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the accident was as a result of over-speeding from both drivers.
The accident was confirmed on Thursday by Osun state FRSC commandant, Imoh Etuk.
Etuk said “our investigation revealed that the fatal accident was caused by over speeding drivers.”
“20 people were involved in the crash, 12 women, 5 men, 1 male child, 2 female children”
“6 women and 2 men and a child died” he added.
