Kalu Ikeagwu: I Was Very Scare To Get Marriage Over Fear Of Losing My Freedom To Marriage Commitment
Nollywood actor Kalu Ikeaguw has revealed that his new movie, the Kinsman mirrored exactly how he met his wife, Ijeoma Eze.
Here is what the actor told Chux Ohai on how his new movie role mirrored his pre-marriage thoughts.
“Before I met my wife, I had been in a situation where I was quite concerned about what she looked like, what her status was like, whether she was hot enough or beautiful enough and so on. But when I was eventually ready to meet her, after I had gone through what I had to go through, I came to understand that it didn’t matter what she looked like, where she came from, whether she was light or dark-skinned, slim or fat.
“All I wanted was someone who loved God more than she loved me. I wanted a companion. But it took me a long time to make up my mind to get married because I was afraid of losing my freedom. But when I understood that life is all about companionship I knew what to look out for.
“My younger brother, who was married 10 years before I did, once said to me, ‘Anything you see in your spouse, whether good or bad, multiply it by 10. That is what you will see in marriage. The worst mistake you will make is thinking that people will change. They will never change. So make sure you can live the bad and you cannot live without the good. I followed that principle and it has served me till date.”
The comedy movie will start showing in cinemas in Nigeria today Friday the 5th of October 2018.
