Iwo High Chief Slams Oluwo For Insulting Ooni Of Ife “Stop Disgracing Iwo Royal Stool”
Feb 5, 2018 – Iwo High Chief Abiola Ogundokun Slams Oluwo For Insulting Ooni Of Ife, Urges Him To Stop Disgracing Iwo Royal Stool
The Oluwo of Iwoland, Rasheed Akanbi has been warned to stop insulting the stool of Ooni of Ife days after he openly blocked his access to his seat during a function in Port Harcourt.
The Obanla of Iwo in Osun state, High Chief Abiola Ogundokun in a statement released over the weekend in Osogbo said it was unbecoming of a ruler of Oluwo’s status to disparage and abuse the Ooni on the Internet, television and newspapers.
Ogundokun said:
“I plead with kabiyesi, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, as a father and senior king to Oluwo, to swallow all the falsehood and attacks being made against him by Oluwo on the social media, television and newspapers in the past one and a half years.”
The high chief who cited an instance where the Oluwo said he had superior claims to the stool of Ooni of Ife because he is a direct son of Luwo before he was scolded and stopped by Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III urged the monarch to stop disgracing Iwo royal stool, adding that Iwo indigenes are wise and disciplined people.

The guy Oluwo of Iwo is a lobbyist, he’s just trying to lobby to see if he can get some contracts through those people he was relating to at the function. Even Oni himself is a lobbyist. They have to lobby to get going. Oluwo only did it at a wrong place and at a wrong time. What he did was not intentional or trying to disrespect Oni of Ife, he was just been carried away at that moment. That guy Oluwo is exposed enough to know his limit.
Since that guy came back from Canada, he had nothing and he must connect to who is who in order to maintain his royal position, that was why he found himself in that lobbying position. What happened to this Oba is totally different from how media portrays him.
