What was the first award you received?

I can’t remember but the first award that took me outside Nigeria was Afro Hollywood award.

Was that the first time you travelled abroad?

No. We had gone on tour, with Aki and Paw Paw. I remember that when we boarded the flight in Nigeria, the air hostess gave them toys to play with thinking they were kids. Paw Paw said, ‘Chei! We don suffer!’ Even when we got to our hotel in Belgium, the receptionist told them that kids like them were not allowed to stay on their own in a room. She told me that I, their father, should stay with them. I quickly told her they were my mates.
