The victim was allegedly kidnapped at the University town of Abraka , Ethiope East local government area of the state by gunmen.
The gunmen were said to have displayed various arms to scare away neighbours of the victim who could have attempted to rescue her.
Speaking with our correspondent on the telephone from Abuja, where he had travelled for an official engagement, Muoboghare said he was informed that the gunmen struck when his wife was getting ready to go to work.
He said, “With guns pointed at the frightened woman who almost melted like a hot candle wax, they ordered her into a waiting car which immediately zoomed off to an unknown destination.”
The spokesman for the Delta State Police Command, Mr Charles Muka, who confirmed the incident, said a man had been arrested in connection with the incident.
“We have somebody in our custody who is helping us to unravel the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping of the woman,” Muka said.
