Lekki Husband Killer Barrister Udeme Odibi Lands In Kirikiri Prison, Gets Trial Date As Court Approves Victim Burial

The Lagos lawyer who killed her husband last week was on Wedneaday remanded in Kirikiri prison.

The accused, 47-year-old Barrister Udeme Odibi appeared before a Chief Magistrates Court in Yaba yesterday where she was charged with the murder of her husband 56-year-old Sym Otunuya Otike Odibi.

Police prosecutor Asuquo Effiong who tendered the gory photos from the crime scene in court yesterday narrated how the accused ripped her husband’s intestine and chopped off his manhood at their home in Diamond Estate in Ibeju Lekki Lagos after accusing him of sleeping around.

However, her lawyer Oluseye Bamijoko urged the court to stop the scheduled burial of the deceased today and remand the accused in Ikoyi.

His demand was rejected  by Chief Magistrate Kikelomo Bukola who said Ikoyi has no facility for women.

She also rejected his demand to stop the burial, saying burial is the right of the dead.

The Chief Magistrate remanded the accused in Kikikiri  and adjourned the case till the 25th of June.
