Haha! Isn’t an Oba supposed to be fortified with charms (“ajesara”) to prevent this kind of attack ? All he needed to do was speak with ase – command and the assailant will freeze. These traditional monarchies are fast losing their power and potency to modern age technology and religion. How dare anyone attack an Oba? Very sad indeed. May God console his bereaved family and subjects.

Except the Lord protects, no one can escape an attack no matter how strong you are in charms, weapons and soldiers!
May the soul of the departed rest in peace!
I am sorry to say this, many kings are so stingy nowadays that non of their subjects will be willing to guard them! If I may ask, where are the palace guards? Where are the palace traditional servants (Emese)? So sad!

There’s more to this. Oba’s hands might not be clean concerning the guy’s state of health. All the same rip.

It’s a pity and my condolences to the family, ….but Nigeria need this type of mad people to invade government houses..

This is what modernisation has caused, so there are no palace aides? Since the mad man hails from the same royal family as the late monarch I think there is more to it.

This is a strange occurrence. There is too much method In this madness and it should be properly investigated for ulterior motives.
For commentators advocating need for “this type of madness”, be careful what you wish for…. You or yours may one day climb the seat of power.
