Ngozi Nwaneto, Nollywood Actress Attacked In Lagos & Aba For Playing Wicked Movie Roles Recounts Ordeal

nollywood actress attacked movie roles

My Most Embarrassing Moment By veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwaneto

If you are a good actor or actress, you must have embarrassing moments. In those days, there was a time somebody slapped me at Balogun Market in Lagos and abused me; calling me all sort of names. Another one happened at Suru Alaba also in Lagos.

They chased me and some of them were shouting, ‘wicked woman’! I had to drop everything I bought there and run for my dear life.

The worst of it was when I acted in ‘Betrayal’ where I took over my madam’s position and became the Oga’s wife. They almost killed me at Aba.

People should learn to appreciate the work we are doing. They should understand that the character or role we play is not the real person. We are just like an instrument that is being used to bring out the ills in the society.

What a mentality on the tv viewers who judge actors/actresses on the role they play on the movies. But allow their corrupt politicians to hand them a loaf of bread as they cling back to power to continue their exploitation.those are the real ctors who should be stoned

That is Africa mentally for you. The fact that this woman played a wicked role in a movie does not makes her a wicked person. Just like if she had played a good role doesn’t makes her good person either. Instead of vilifying her, why can’t you commend her for the interpreting her role very good.
