Nigerian Hajj Pilgrim Dies After Falling Inside Hotel Elevator Pit In Mecca Saudi Arabia

A Nigerian man from Niger state died on Wednesday in Makkah (Mecca) Saudi Arabia after he fell into the pit of an elevator undergoing repair.

According to reports, the deceased whose name is yet to be released stepped on the lift and sank inside the pit where he suffocated to death.

Hajj Commission Chairman, Dr Ibrahim Kana paid a condolence visit to the family of the bereaved and urged them to take heart .

He also sought Allah’s forgiveness for the deceased and fortitude for his family to bear the irreplaceable loss.

Dr Ibrahim Kana lamented that the hotel managers knew that the lift had been defective for days, but they made no effort to seal it off or warn pilgrims to keep away.

Another Nigerian pilgrim from Kano state also died of diabetes in Saudi yesterday.
