Nigerian Taxi Cab Driver Killed In New York – Stabbed To Death With An Umbrella

Just one week after the tragic death of a Nigerian taxi driver in DC, another disaster has happened and this time around, it’s in New York.

Mr Ama Orji is a 54-year-old man who hails from Ekoli Edda in Ebonyi State.

On the evening of Thursday the 13th of June, 2013, Mr Orji met his untimely death in the hands of 2 of his passengers.

A man allegedly used Umbrella to punch his eye which pierced through his brain.

He wasn’t shot or something, one of his passengers used Umbrella to repeatedly stab him in the eye.

This was carried out by one of the passengers who happened to be a man in his early 20s according to an eyewitness.

We learnt the murder case happened on Thomas South and Boyland Street in Brownsville.

It started with an argument.

Due to the injury he suffered, he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into 2 parked vehicles.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The deceased relocated to the United States of America about 10 years ago.

After securing his stay, he sponsored his two daughters to live with him.

His wife is still back home in Aba, Abia State.

Police are still on the hunt for his killers.

People are so wicked… How can someone stab his fellow human being in the eye with an Umbrella.

Haba God have mercy o.

May God grant his family the fortitude to bear his loss.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.

An idle mind is the devil’s work shop. He must come back as an ‘avenging spirit and fight back his murderers’. Unfortunately, 13 is a bad luck number.

It our past leaders had got it right, and biult our nation, instead of looting our national cake. Nigeria could have been a better place to live in, and our citizens couldn’t have been traveling abroad to face this kind of in-human treatment being metted out to them by foreigners. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

Murder is never right. However, without knowing the facts of this case we cannot know exactly what happened. In the area where I live, Louisville, Kentucky, there is a huge number of Nigerian cab drivers. I guess that’s true in many (most ?) American cities theses days. Unfortunately, many of the Nigerians here seem to hate Americans, have extremely bad attitudes, and from the stories I hear, are often fraudulent in their business practices. Working in the taxi industry, I’ve heard countless stories of passengers being ripped-off by these low-life, scummy, cut-throat individuals. Sometimes even being threatened. Surely there must be decent, honest, hard-working Nigerian driver’s also, but their reputation is being tarnished by their own countrymen. This case may well be the result!

Let Nigerias in foreign lands return HOME and face the music. We should stay at HOME and deal with our own problems and not see life away from HOME as the first option. There is more to life than money. We lose a LOT more when we leave the ones we love to go and leave among those who would regard you as inferior and believe you don’t deserve to be there. You are regarded as the LOWEST class. When they have problems you are seen as the cause.
When you go away from home, return becomes impossible.
Let’s return home and be part of the solution.
    NIGERIA will get better.
Let parents stop wishing their childrens’ future belong abroad. It is a desease which needs immediate cure.
I hope people will understand this.
This is a message from someone who is LOST at SEA.
