Education Minister Adamu Adamu Shuns Women Who Approached Him For Handshake In Honour Of Islamic Teachings

The current minister of education has come under fire for refusing to hand shake women during a function in Abuja.

According to a Twitter user,@ keneike, Mallam Adamu Adamu was said to have shunned some women who approached him for a handshake at a function that held at NUC Abuja on Tuesday the 9th of May 2017.

He was said to have raised his hand just like Akiolu did to Ooni of Ife last week.

While some claim it’s inappropriate, others said he might have done that due to his religious belief that forbids handshake with opposite sex.

In the past, Adamu Adamu was seeing shaking men’s hand so the only issue is the opposite sex.

Shaking hands (and touching) members of the opposite sex when not related, is not permissible for Muslims according to the teachings of Islam.

Islamic scholars can explain this better.

  1. shallow minded individuals.ibb and abdulsalami shakes una no de wear suit.atiku wears suit to functions even though babaringa trends in the north..are u telling me if you or your pikin graduate with honors and u will refuse hand shake from a female VC..very shameful..mixing religion with governance.

  2. It is no big deal. Indeed not shaking hands is a favor when one thinks of the dirty habit some people have. For instance, some people are chronic nose pickers and some sneeze into their hands and simply proceed to rub the palms together and go their way. We see these habits exhibited by people on daily basis, so Anyone who chooses not to shake people’s hands should be held excused a beg.
