Veteran Nollywood actor Martins Njubuigbo popularly called Elder Maya and Papa Labista has passed on to glory.

The talented actor lost his battle to liver disease at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos yesterday at 11:15pm.

According to Nollywood sources, his colleagues managed to raise over 1million naira to fund his treatment and days after he was transported to Lagos from his village in Okija Anambra state, the Nollywood elder gave up the ghost.

  3. When I saw the heading I did not know who it referred to until I opened the page and saw the photograph. E wo o o o o o ! This is a great loss. I particularly remember one movie the man was featured as A sick father of an absentee son he wished would return home and meet him before he dies.
    Acting that role, this great man coughed and sniffed and looked frail so convincingly those of us watching were in tears that the son could not possibly meet him alive. He survived in the movie. How Iwish this real life situation was such that he would survive, but alas !!! I cannot recall the title of the movie because It was already half way aired by the time I joined the group to watch but such was the vividness of the scene the image of the man remained in my memory!
    Nollywood and indeed Nigeria has lost a great thespian.
    But, Sir you are alive, for you live on in your great works. RIP!
