For once the Igbo celebrities have taken the boldest step of recognising who they are and where they come from by congregating in Igboland to launch Africa Magic Igbo Dstv channel 159 in Enugu instead of Lagos.? Can anyone imagine Kannywood massing up in Lagos instead of Kano for any such event and the question is, where lies the sense of pride of who we are and where we belong. Igbos have always claimed Lagos is a no man’s land when it suits them but quickly finds the route to the East when the enviroments both in Lagos, Kano etc. gets too intimidating to contain. Nowhere is like home, there should be no reason why an average Lagos Igbo resident be proud and identify with Lagos than his home terrirory of Igboland, the enomous talents naturally endowed the Igbos are enough wealth for the rest of Nigeria to migrate to the East to take advantage of; however, the Igbos have neglected this and the opposite is rather the case where Igbos migrate everywhere in Nigeria and, having been recieved and settled, try to establish a tribal hegemony that eventually crumbles at the least of indeginous provovations borne out of uncontrolled behavioural excesses. Kudos for getting this right. LONG LIVE NIGERIA.

Thumbs up ! to the people who conceived the idea to launch IGBO movies and events on Dstv bouquet.Hausa and Yoruba has been there for a long time ago,but the bulk of nollywood entertainers are from Igbo land.It is high time we begin to re-orient ourselves with the Igbo values and norms. Our culture and language could be sustained and made to outlive ages through electronic media like dstv and other pay tv companies.I urge all the Igbos particularly those who live in diaspora and those who live in Lagos and outside Igbo land that living far distance from Igbo land is not a barrier to learn the culture, language and societal values and norms in Igbo land. Our language must be exported to other countries and Nigerian states so that other nations or tribe will begin to learn,if possible induct it in their academic syllables.
