June 28, 2014 – Justice Oputa’s Burial Ended Abruptly As Charlie Boy Stopped Okorocha From Speaking In Church
Oputa’s Burial: Charly Boy Seized Microphone From Priest, Stopped Okorocha From Speaking In Church
The funeral service for late Justice Chuwudifu Oputa, the father of area fada Charly Boy who passed away few weeks ago ended abruptly yesterday when his son, Charly Boy stopped Imo state Goveror Rocas Okorochas from making a speech for the deceased.
Okorocha, who was equally angry that protocol was breached by President Goodluck Jonathan who was represented at the mass by the Secretary of the Government of Federation, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim by speaking before him, rose to make his speech but Charly Boy seized the microphone from the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Jude Ike, which created confusion in the church.
The Parish Priest begged the controversial area fada to honour Okorocha by allowing him to speak but he refused saying he wouldn’t want his father’s burial to be politicised.
Upset by Charly Boy’s action, Okorocha left the church in anger.
Immediately after Okorocha’s departure, Imo state Attorney General, Chuwuma Umeh ordered all the lawyers who came to the funeral to leave.
As the lawyers were leaving, the dignitaries who attended the mass began to leave in droves as Okorocha and his convoy drove away in anger before the body of late Justice Oputa was taken back to his town for burial.
