Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde Becomes 3rd Nigerian Governor To Have COVID-19
The governor of Oyo state has tested positive for Coronavirus.
Seyi Makinde who is showing no symptoms revealed this on his Twitter page today;
Here are his words:
“I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is positive. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate”.
“I have designated Prof. Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, as the Head of COVID-19 Task Force while I recover fully.”
“Please, continue to comply with all the directives from the COVID-19 Task Force. Stay home, stay safe”.
His diagnosis is coming 24 hours after Oyo confirmed 4 new cases.
The new patients include Chief Medical Director, University College Hospital, Ibadan, Prof. Jesse Otegbayo; Provost and Deputy Provost of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, professors Ezekiel Olapade-Olaopa and Obafunke Denloye.
The state now has 7 confirmed cases.
In addition to Makinde, other governors who tested positive for COVID 19 include Kaduna state governor Nasir El Rufai and Bauchi State governor Bala Mohammed.
The governor, has urged residents to comply with directives aimed at curbing coronavirus in the state. His deputy Prof Temitope Alonge, has taken over as the head of Oyo COVID-19 Task Force.

No symptoms means the virus is incubating, give it sometimes, you will start seeing symptoms. Better start treatment now
