A Chinese businessman who was abducted last week in Sagamu township by some people has regained his freedom.
The freedom came after his people parted way with a N3.5 million as ransom.
The man, whose identity could not be ascertained as at the time of filling this report was abducted at Isale Oko area of Sagamu around 6:40pm last week by some people who came in a sky blue colour car.
According to the source, the abductors later got across to his business partners here through his mobile line and demanded for N10 million.
It was after much pleas that they agreed on N3.5 million, with a stern warning from the abductors that the people should not try to play smart or involve the police, threatening to ‘waste’ the expatriate, if such happened.
Narrating the incident to our correspondent, the source said: “This man is a trader that deals in timber, he alongside others do come down to Sagamu to buy the wood and go back to their base.
“He was coming from the sawmill that very day and stopped over at the eatery to take his dinner before retiring to his hotel when he was kidnapped.
“The kidnappers said the money should be brought to a place along Ijebu Ode road. The man that went to give them the money was asked to raise the envelope in which the money is when coming.
“They asked the man to drop the money by the roadside somewhere between Odogbolu and Ososa before the bridges. They said there are four different kinds of leaves around there.
“The money was dropped there and they told the man to drive down towards Ijebu Ode side for the victim.
When he got to the express junction, he was asked to move towards Idowa-Ala road.
“Later, they stopped calling only to see the victim by the roadside along Ibefun Imodi-Ijasi road. He was looking very weak and he had since returned to Lagos to take good care of himself,” the source narrated.
