December 7, 2016 – 3 Fulani Herdsmen Who Kidnapped Dangote’s Employees, Murdered Hostage Negotiator Arrested
The 3 Fulani herdsmen, suspected killers of Dangote’s Chief strategist have been arrested.
The suspects who reportedly kidnapped 5 other expatriates of the company were picked up at three different locations on Monday.
24-year-old Gide Abubakar was arrested inside a forest in Ijebu Igbo Ogun state; 22-year-old Salihi Abdullahi was arrested inside Epe Forest in Lagos while the third suspect 25-year-old Adamu Babuga was picked up at Ajase Ipo Forest in Kwara state.
The suspects confessed to the murder of Istifanus Gurama after collecting N5.6million ransom from him.
The deceased
The reportedly killed him for refusing to call his employer to bring N4.4million to balance the demanded N10million ransom.
Items recovered from the suspects include six AK47 magazines and 160 rounds of live ammunition, 3 AK47 rifles.
They led police to Apoje River where the body of Gurama was recovered.
Efforts are ongoing to catch the other members of the kidnap gang currently at large in other states.
