Major General Ibrahim Sani who has now been demoted to the rank of a Brigadier General lost his rank after a Special Military court convicted him on 5-count charge of cheating after he allocated a portion of 436 hectares army land to himself and sold it to real estate developers two years ago.

He has been ordered to return all the money he got from the fraudulent land sale to the Army.

His lawyer Paul Sule has vowed to fight the sentence at the court of Appeal.
