Believe it or not, Palacio De sal is the first hotel in the world built with salt blocks.
It is conveniently located at the edge of Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat in La Paz south in Bolivia.
Everything from the walls and floors to the beds and tables have been carved out of salt taken from the Salar de Uyuni salt flat. Even the quirky retreat’s swimming pool, tables and chairs in the dining room and nine-hole golf course are made from sodium chloride.
This unique idea was crafted by Don Juan Quesada. The hotel was first built in the mid 90s but had to be dismantled in 2002 before being rebuilt.

Not a bad idea @Kingsley & DankwaJ. Meknows d plan of d hotel designer. As it is a hotel, wen they serv u food & u feel d salt in it is not enof, u may conviniently cut out a chunk frm d table or d walls & add 2 ur food 2 ur taste. Wat else do we mean wen we say “cutting edge design”? Customers would cut d hotel until it finishes.
Wit d r8 dat developmnt goes nw, we wil soon b cooking wit Dangote cement instead of salt, & there would b no harm.

even de bed-spray n pillows is caving out 4rm salt. Dey should hv kall it a salty hotel. Im nt sure de block will last up2 a yr so goers be ware.
