January 12, 2014 – Rivers State Police Attack: Injured Senator Magnus Abe Airlifted To London For Treatment

Nigerian senator Magnus Abe who suffered serious internal bleeding when Rivers State Police officials shot him today is currently on his way to the United Kingdom for emergency medical treatment.

As earlier reportedly, the Senator was shot by some trigger-happy police officers during a pro-Amaechi rally in Rivers State today, Sunday the 12th of January, 2014.

The attack knocked him to the ground and since then, he hasn’t uttered a word.

Doctors who attended to him at a private hospital today said his injury is very severe.

He has been airlifted to London for emergency medical treatment.

As their usual tradition, Rivers State police officials have denied the attack.

    I’m a medical doctor in Lagos state I think we have been undervalued
    Another point is lack of good medical equipment for surgeries and emergency medicine

    @micheal,am nt surprise,gone are d days when competent doctors were being produced and we can entrust our lives in their hands,all we have now is politician doctors,full of pride,lovers of money than pples lives,running 4rm pillar to post to become surgeon general dt cant do anytin,look at yr life nw,u cant save a life with all yr fumblings,all u knw hw to do is looking down on other members of health team.wishing u a quick recovery jare senetor

    Looking at d pix closely and with what i saw on Tv,i could nt see or locate d site of d gun shot on his chest,cos whether rubber or live bullet,it will pass through d skin,there shuld be a concrete evidence,yet to belief d severity?am sorry to say
