January 16, 2018 – Pope Francis Officially Apologises To Victims Of Sexual Abuse By Clergy In The Catholic Church
Pope Francis has officially apologised to victims of clergy sexual abuse within the Catholic church.
The Pope said he felt shame and pain at the irreparable damage to children caused by some ministers of the church.
Here is what the Pope said while speaking before Chilean dignitaries in Santiago de Chile.
“I am one with my brother bishops, for it is right to ask for forgiveness and make every effort to support the victims. Although, we have committed ourselves to ensuring that such things do not happen again.’’
Few days ago, the Vatican took over a Catholic church in Peru after its founder was accused of sexual and psychological abuse.
