Trump Promises To Help Nigeria Fight COVID-19 As Death Toll In USA Hits 56876
US President Donald J Trump today called President Buhari and declared support for Nigeria on the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
This was disclosed by Information Minister, Lai Mohammed at the daily media briefing of the presidential task force on COVID-19.
He said the US president promised to send across ventilators to Nigeria.
US currently has over 1 million confirmed coronavirus cases with 56,876 deaths while Nigeria has 1337 confirmed cases with 40 deaths.

IF THIS IS not one nother lie from our dear Minister of Lies, then I would say that this is just the case where a malnourished babalawo promises to make you rich whereas he needs to be rich first before he is able to help another. But I dare say that Trump never said this.

OK! I JUST HEARD it in the news. The US has not sufficiently helped themselves, but they have extended a helping hand to Nigeria. This is either one blessed altruism or that age-old, mysterious babalawo syndrome.

What is really wrong with us in Nigeria on our dependency on Western treatment? We always have this can’t do it attitude. We never want to lift a finger despite the fact we have good epidemiologists and virologists expertise in our health sector. Senegal has produced testing kits costing just one dollar. They don’t have to worry about defective kits/mask from China. We never have Covid-19 until when we started using China’s infected mask. Madagascar has already started their home grown curative herbal drug. Our leaders in Nigeria are only interested in where the money flows borrowing billions of dollars to fight Corona but yet cannot fund our experts to at least try to produce one local kit. We always feel good whenever we receive foreign assistance on something we can do right under our nose in Nigeria. Shame on our leaders.
We need to stop this can’t do it idea and step forward to make our contribution too. We cannot be a dependent nation for the rest of our life. If a small island Nation of Madagascar can contain the Covid-19 with an herbal drink, what are we waiting for? Ghana has tested over 65,000 people more than Nigeria. They are even using home made drones to transport samples from remote villages to the testing centers in the city. We need to stop calling ourselves Giant for nothing. Giant without intuition and common ideas.
