April 7, 2016 – 2 Lassa Fever Victims Admitted To Hospital In Ebonyi State As Cholera Outbreak Kills 76

At least 76 people have lost their lives to the cholera disease outbreak in Ebonyi State.

This was made known in a press briefing conducted by Ebonyi Health Commissioner, Dr Daniel Umezuruike.

Dr Umezuruike also revealed that the state recorded 83 Lassa fever cases with 2 still on admission.

    Well, sorry to say this but I think Ebonyi State is a not too interesting place to visit at least for now. Maybe till when the dust of this cholera outbreak that has qualified about 76 people for six-feet below the Earth calm down first.

    My sincere heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families of the deceased.
    May God heal Ebonyi State. May God heal Nigeria.

    The people of ebonyi should be wise enough to start going to medical check up in other to avoid another mass death. May God take control of ebonyi state and restore sound health. Rip to the deceased

    Lassa fever still exist really feel for d lost soul d governor of d state should do something abt this cholera,build clean borehole and make d environment conducive for them.

    @D Hunter, I think almost along the same line. I don’t know why of all the 5 Igbo states, Ebonyi is ravaged with outhreak of diseases like a northern state. It pains me. I don’t intend disrespect here, but I think the reason lies in the people. They just have to embark upon a massive Ebonyi-State-wide crusade/campaign on personal/community hygiene.
