Abuja Court Sentences Mechanic To 6 Strokes Of Cane For Attempted Burglary At Maternity Clinic

An Area court in Karmo Abuja today sentenced a mechanic, 25-year-old Friday Monday to 6 strokes of cane for criminal trespass into a clinic.

Monday who admitted he committed the offences of criminal trespassing and attempt to steal was arraigned this morning before Justice Abubakar Sadiq and pleaded for leniency.

On January 30, 2018, the convict jumped the fence into the premises of Joy of The Lord Clinic and Maternity Hospital and attempted to steal aluminium windows around 4pm.

He was caught by a security guard on patrol and whisked to a police station in the area.

The prosecutor handling the case, Mrs Florence Auhioboh said the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 342 and 95 of the Penal Code.
