A lady identified as Uloko Lauretta Apaume has died.

The female student of Auchi Poly in Edo state was killed during her graduation party last night by a vigilante group member while she was dancing at her graduation party.

According to eyewitnesses, the Banking and Finance student was killed by a stray bullet from a yet to be identified vigilante who mistakenly fired shots meant to be shot into the air at her.

Here is what a witness at the party said:

“The vigilante was lowering the gun to know why it failed to release bullet after firing and in the process the bullet discharge itself and accidentally killed the girl who was dancing on the spot

“The incident caused panic as the celebrating students scampered for safety but the suspects was later arrested by the police.”

The state Police Commissioner Babatunde Johnson Kokumo said the incident was not intentional.

He added that the suspect is in police custody.
