At least 53 innocent people have died following a car bomb at a TV viewing centre in Maiduguri.
The bomb exploded inside a pickup van carrying firewood around 6pm Nigerian time on Saturday in a densely populated area (Bintu-Suga) along Airport road in Gomari area of the city.
According to security agencies evacuating the bodies of the victims, the attack was carried out by Boko Haram militants who have attacked several locations in the state and neighboring Adamawa state.
The bombers targeted a market place and packed TV viewing center in the attack. Security agents have been drafted to the scene of the attack as panicked resident flee in droves.
