One of the Most Corrupt Nigerian Politician, Senator Danjuma Goje
Oct 17, 2011 – Danjuma Goje Spent N1.9 Billion To Print 98,000 Duplicate Copies Of Dictionary
Based on the report we obtained from The Nigerian Tribune, the Economic And Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) is reporting that the Ex-Governor of Gombe State,Danjuma Goje authorized and paid out the total amount of 1.9 billion Naira to his buddies for the printing 98,000 copies of thedictionary.
This fraudulent undertaking was to supply One million copies of the dictionary to Gombe state student at no cost. In the end, only 98,000 copies of the dictionary was delivered with the remaining balance unaccounted for (shameful!).
According to a simple computation:
N1.9 billion divided by 1 million copies of dictionary equals N1,900 per copy
N1.9 billion divided by 98,000 copies of dictionary supplied equals N19,387 per copy
The market price of one Oxford dictionary costs an average of 500 Naira, while Webster’s dictionary costs around 450 Naira. So what exactly is the justified reason for authorizing N1,900 for every copy of the dictionary in the first place?
This is a fraudulent act and an embezzlement of public funds..This man should experience what is called the “full wrath of the law” or else Nigeria’s justice system has failed.
