Eiye Cultist Caught Hiding Cutlass In Trouser Charged With Cultism

Adeyemi Ridwan, today appeared in an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly belonging to the ‘Eiye’ confraternity.

Ridwan, 18, who resides at Enitire St., Pako-Mushin, Itire Road, Lagos, had pleaded not guilty to a three-count charge of conspiracy, belonging to an unlawful society and possession of dangerous weapons.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Lucky Ihiehie, had told the court that the offences were committed on Oct. 27 at about 5:30 p.m. at Pako bus-stop, Itire, Mushin Area of Lagos.

Ihiehie said that the accused, and five others now at large, were arrested by the Insp. Boniface Ukoha’s Surveillance team on Itire Road by Ifako bus-stop, on a tip-off.

He said that the accused was arrested with a short cutlass hidden inside his jeans trouser.

The prosecutor said that the case was reported to the Anti-Cultism Unit, Gbagada, on Oct. 28.

He said the offences contravened Sections 42 (9), 51 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mrs E. Kubeinje, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Kubenje said that the sureties must show proof of means of livelihood, with evidence of tax payments to the Lagos State Government for two years.

She adjourned the case was until Dec. 4, for hearing. (NAN)

    cultism should be dealt with and in a strict way but why would an average aboki be it suya seller or cobbler all over the country have dagger/knife in their possession and not to talk of fulani herdsmen with ak47 killing ,raping and molesting innocent citizens.law enforcements and every dick and harry is aware of this fact but wouldnt want to deal with it .let us stop this shadowy pick and choose prosecution by govt agencies.

    Charity they say begins at home. Parent must be curious to find out how their children go out,spend money..and all.most youth of this generation are looking for short means to make quick wealth.that is why they join one society or the one for connection.parents keep watch!
