A truck driver lost control of his vehicle in Aba on Tuesday following a sudden brake failure and rammed into 2 commercial tricycles and a Toyota SUV.

The truck carrying empty beer bottles was heading towards Enugu/Port Harcourt Expressway when its brakes failed at Osisioma junction.

An eyewitness had it that when the truck, which was on top speed rammed into the tricycles, it pushed them into a nearby ditch and discharged some of its contents on the victims. There was palpable fear in the area that more persons might have been trapped inside the ditch, which was said to have been dug close to the road by a construction company.
