Fatal Accident On Lagos Sagamu Expressway: 2 Killed, 3 Injured As Bus Crashed Into Truck

A tragic road accident took the life of 2 persons and injured 3 others this morning.

According to The Nation, the accident which involved a Golf car marked FKJ 764 XB, a mini truck with registration number ABG 352 ZD and unmarked bus carrying musical equipment, occurred when the bus ran into the mini truck in bid to avoid colliding with the golf car.

The driver of the bus and a passenger died at the accident scene.

It was learnt that the driver of the golf car created the commotion leading to accident when he drove into the expressway from the adjoining road without looking out for on – coming vehicles.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, who confirmed the accident, attributed the cause to careless driving.

“We learnt the Benz mini-bus was coming from Ijebu-Ode this morning loaded with Musical instruments, when in an attempt to avoid hitting a Golf car which suddenly entered the expressway, ran into a mini-truck carrying diesel with two occupants inside.

“Out of the three passengers in the bus, two died on the spot, including the driver, while the third passenger was injured along with two other persons in the truck carrying diesel,” Akinbiyi said.

The corpse of the deceased were kept at Fakoya hospital in Sagamu while the injured were taken to Idera Hospital in Ajaka, also in Sagamu, Ogun state.
